The DAISY Award
The DAISY Award is an international recognition program that honors the compassionate care provided by nurses. It was created by the family of a patient who experienced extraordinary nursing care and wanted to say “thank you” in a lasting way.
At GRMC, the DAISY Award recognizes nurses who demonstrate:
- Exceptional clinical skill and judgment
- Compassionate, patient-centered care
- Emotional support for patients and families
- A consistent commitment to going above and beyond
DAISY honorees are celebrated for the profound impact they make during some of life’s most vulnerable moments.

The Sunshine Award recognizes non-nursing clinical and support staff who bring positivity, encouragement, and excellence to patient care and the overall hospital experience.
