Guadalupe Regional Medical Center COVID-19 Update: December 30, 2020

GRMC has no information on COVID-19 vaccinations for the general public.

On December 23, 2020 GRMC received 800 Moderna COVID-19 vaccines. Our frontline health care providers were prioritized during this initial wave of local vaccinations. The 800 vaccines that GRMC received have all been given. GRMC does not currently have any COVID-19 vaccines in stock.

The Moderna COVID-19 vaccine is given as a series of 2 injections given approximately 24 days apart. GRMC expects to receive another shipment of 800 COVID-19 Moderna vaccine boosters that is the second dose of the vaccine. This will be distributed to the individuals who received the initial Moderna vaccine.

Texas Department of Health and Human Services has released information outlining the phases of its tiered vaccine distribution program which defines the categories of individuals that may currently obtain vaccines. Phase 1A (including front-line workers and residents of a long-term care facility) and phase 1B (including people who are 65 or older or those 16 and older with chronic medical conditions that put them at increased risk for COVID-19) are now eligible under the distribution criteria pending provider approval and vaccine availability.

GRMC will continue to communicate with the Texas organizations that are working to distribute vaccines. We will share information with the public as it becomes available, currently we have no vaccines available for the general public.
