Guadalupe Regional Medical Center COVID-19 Update: July 29, 2020

 

As of July 28, 2020, Guadalupe County is reporting 1,715 COVID-19 cases in Guadalupe County (including 588 DSHS pending cases and 1127 confirmed cases). The total number includes 1005 recovered and 112 active cases.

Numbers of COVID-19 Patients at GRMC: Currently GRMC has 27 hospitalized COVID-19 patients (including 3 patients receiving inpatient rehabilitation care that are COVID-19 positive and some patients transferred from other facilities). This number changes frequently.

GRMC Number Trends: GRMC’s 7 day moving average number of new COVID-19 hospital admissions per day now at 3, down from 4 reported July 24th. The 7 day moving average of COVID-19 hospitalized patients is now 24, down from 29 on July 24th. GRMC has seen a significant decrease in the number of COVID-19 outpatient testing performed. Over the past week outpatient testing decreased 60% and the positivity rate for testing dropped from 31% to 24.3%. This means fewer people came in for tests and a smaller percentage of those tested were positive for COVID-19 from the week prior. Our Emergency Department patient visits for flu-like and COVID-like illnesses have also decreased to 17% over the prior week of 28%. This information represents average numbers from our facility alone.
