This designation signifies that GRMC ranks in the top 14% of over 4,600 U.S. hospitals for patient safety in surgical practices and infection prevention.

Award Criteria
The Women’s Choice Award for Patient Safety is the only national designation that combines clinical performance, patient satisfaction, and women’s healthcare preferences to identify top-performing hospitals.

To qualify, hospitals must:

• Perform well across 12 CMS measures of infection and complication rates, including:
• Surgical site infections
• Sepsis
• MRSA
• CLABSI and CAUTI
• Deaths from serious treatable complications
• Receive high patient recommendation scores from the CMS HCAHPS survey
• Have no “Worse than National Rate” ratings in key safety categories
