Guadalupe Regional Medical Center COVID-19 Update: August 6, 2020

 

As of August 5, 2020, Guadalupe County is reporting 1,850 COVID-19 cases. The total number includes 1,593 recovered and 257 active cases.

Numbers of COVID-19 Patients at GRMC: Currently GRMC has 15 hospitalized COVID-19 patients (including 3 patients receiving inpatient rehabilitation care that are COVID-19 positive and some patients transferred from other facilities). This number changes frequently.

GRMC Number Trends: GRMC’s 7 day moving average number of new COVID-19 hospital admissions per day is now at 1, down from 3 reported July 29th. The 7 day moving average of COVID-19 hospitalized patients is now 14, down from 24 on July 29th.

No Visitor Policy: The emergency rule regarding facility visitation policies adopted by Texas Health and Human services on April 6th, 2020 in response to the state disaster declaration has been extended for another 60 days. GRMC will continue the no visitor policy in place, except for certain situations in order to protect the health and safety of patients, staff and the public.

Contacting a Family Member in COVID-19 Unit: GRMC requests that families assist with the flow of information by designating one family member as the “family spokesperson” to receive updates from GRMC staff about loved ones; this spokesperson can then share updates with other family members. It is encouraged to stay in touch with patients through phone calls and videoconferencing.
