Guadalupe Regional Medical Center COVID-19 Update: February 23, 2021

As of February 15, 2021, Guadalupe County is reporting 12,446 COVID-19 cases. The total number includes 9,286 recovered, 382 confirmed active cases, and 175 probable active cases.

Numbers of COVID-19 Patients at GRMC: Currently GRMC has 13 hospitalized COVID-19 patients. GRMC’s 7 day moving average of new COVID-19 admissions is 2 per day and the 7 day moving average for COVID-19 hospitalizations is 16 per day. Over the last four weeks GRMC has seen a continuous decline in the percentage of positive COVID-19 tests and the percentage of ER visits for flu and COVID-like illness. This information represents average numbers from our facility alone.

Vaccine Information: GRMC continues to partner with Guadalupe County and the City of Seguin to request and distribute COVID-19 vaccines to the community. Information will be distributed to the public via joint press release when the State allocates additional vaccines.

Trauma Service P No Longer a High Hospitalization Area: Last week Trauma Service P (San Antonio) marked 7 consecutive days of less than 15% hospital capacity utilized for COVID-19 patients, signaling the end of the prohibition on elective procedures in our region. Pursuant to Governor Abbott’s executive Orders GA-31 and GA-32 all elective surgeries that could safely be postponed during the time period in which the trauma service area stayed above 15% hospital capacity utilized for COVID-19 cases.
