Heritage Program for Seniors
Senior adults often experience prolonged periods of sadness, anxiety, or unresolved grief due to stress or life changing events. The Heritage Program can assist senior adults to identify underlying issues that may cause stress. The Heritage Program implements a multidisciplinary team approach, in collaboration with the patient’s primary care provider, to help resolve those issues.
Who can benefit?
Senior adults who display some of the following behaviors may benefit from the program:
- Loss of interest in normal daily activities
- Sleep disturbance, fatigue
- Significant weight change, appetite disturbance
- Agitation or anxiety about routine activities
- Impaired thinking or concentration
- Withdrawal from friends or family, or usual increase in dependence upon others
- Prolonged sadness, low self-esteem, depression or thoughts of death
- Unexplained physical problems: headaches, stomach discomfort, backaches
- Complicated grief
- Crying spells or feel like crying most of the time
- Poor compliance with physician recommendations due to lack of motivation
The Heritage staff recognizes that individuals have unique problems. The professional staff designs a specific program to meet each patient’s needs. There’s a free clinical evaluation to determine the need for admission to the program, and a Board-Certified Psychiatrist determines the diagnosis and recommends appropriate treatment prior to outpatient admission.

- Grief and loss resolution
- Education on medication, wellness, and health-related issues
