Martin Levett, MD, FACP, completed an Internship and Residency in Internal Medicine at the University of Texas Medical Branch, Galveston, TX. He has been an Assistant Professor of Internal Medicine at the University of Texas M. D. Anderson, Houston, TX and the Uniformed Services University, Bethesda, MD and is Board Certified in Internal Medicine. He continues to actively serve in the U.S. Navy Reserves and holds the rank of Captain. His interest in wound care comes from his combat and exercise tours with various units of the United States Marine Corps in the Middle East and Africa, where he treated complicated and life or limb threatening wounds in austere environments with limited resources.

Dr. Levett strives to make patients feel like they are family and keep them informed about their medical conditions, as well as options and therapeutic goals. Believing that an informed patient is more likely to comply with the plan of care and thus more likely to heal, Dr. Levett spends extra time educating and informing the patient to assure the highest possible level of compliance and successful wound healing. Limb salvage and amputation prevention practices, especially as these affect Diabetic foot patients and patients with Peripheral Vascular disease, are a priority in his wound care clinic practice and decision making. Dr. Levett treats outpatients and hospitalized patients with advanced wound care modalities and hyperbaric oxygen therapy.
