GRMC is proud to offer Heartflow FFR-CT Analysis, a noninvasive, high-tech test that gives patients and providers a clearer picture of heart health. This advanced technology is part of our commitment to bring the latest care tools close to home.
Heart disease is the leading cause of heart attacks in the U.S., and coronary artery disease (CAD) is one of the most common types. CAD happens when plaque builds up in the arteries that supply blood to your heart. Over time, this can block blood flow, causing chest pain, heart attacks or other serious problems. Many people don’t realize they have CAD, which makes early detection crucial.
What Heartflow Shows
Heartflow works with images from a coronary CT scan, a quick and noninvasive heart scan. Using advanced AI, Heartflow creates a colorcoded, 3D model of your heart arteries. This model shows exactly where plaque is, what type it is and how it may affect blood flow. With this detailed view, your doctor can make more informed treatment decisions.
Some patients may need medication and lifestyle changes. Others may need further procedures. Either way, Heartflow helps you and your doctor see your heart clearly and plan next steps confidently.
How Does it Work
The process is simple. First, a coronary CT scan captures detailed images of your heart. Heartflow then analyzes those images to create your personalized 3D model. Finally, your provider reviews the results with you and explains your best path forward. Heartflow is especially helpful for people with symptoms like chest pain, shortness of breath or unusual fatigue. But it can also detect disease in people who may not notice any warning signs.
Our skilled providers and cardiovascular team are dedicated to using the latest technology to care for our community. By offering Heartflow, we are helping patients understand their heart, take control of their health and make informed decisions.
