GRMC Recognized as 5-Star Facility from Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) for Second Year in a Row

Guadalupe Regional Medical Center (GRMC) has been nationally recognized as 5-Stars from the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) for their overall hospital quality star rating for the second consecutive year. The methodology used for 2022 included standardizing and measuring group scores in the following categories: mortality, safety, readmission, patient experience, and timely & effective care. After estimating the group score for each hospital, CMS calculates a weighted average to combine the group scores into a single hospital summary score.

Out of more than 4,500 hospitals nationwide, only 429 in the nation were rated 5-Star, and in Texas only 31 hospitals were recognized as a 5-Star quality facility, Guadalupe Regional Medical Center being one of them.

“We make it our priority to deliver high quality medical care and exceptional patient experience to each life we have the privilege to care for,” says Robert Haynes, CEO of Guadalupe Regional Medical Center. Being awarded 5-out-of-5 stars for a second consecutive year is meaningful because it is reflective of the effort and focus we have on providing patient-centered, high-quality healthcare. Earning a 5 star rating is difficult in any given year, but to achieve this rating two years in a row puts GRMC in an elite class of healthcare organizations.”

CMS is committed to ensuring patients and family members have quality information when considering where to receive care. These star ratings provide an accurate reflection of the medical services, safety, and caliber of care you will find nationwide.
