Guadalupe Regional Medical Center (GRMC) has been nationally recognized as 5-Stars from the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) for their overall hospital quality star rating. The methodology used for 2021 included standardizing and measuring group scores in the following categories: mortality, safety of care, readmission, patient experience, and timely & effective care. After estimating the group score for each hospital, CMS calculates a weighted average to combine the group scores into a single hospital summary score.

Out of more than 4,500 hospitals nationwide, only 455 in the nation were rated 5-Star, and in Texas only 28 hospitals were recognized as a 5-Star quality facility, Guadalupe Regional Medical Center being one of them.

Only 13.5% of the 4,586 hospitals rated by CMS nationwide earned a five-star rating in the April 2021 rankings. GRMC is honored to be among the nation’s elite hospitals with five stars for overall quality.
