[Seguin, Texas] October 18, 2024 — Guadalupe Regional Medical Center (GRMC) will take part in a mock disaster drill on Wednesday October 23, 2024.  The goal of conducting and planning the exercise is to allow GRMC to assess emergency response, coordination of staff and recovery efforts should a real crisis occur.

This training exercise will include front line hospital staff and Seguin Fire Department and EMS.  The drill will focus on response plans for a mass casualty event, which would trigger a sudden influx of patients, media, and concerned community members.

We caution community members to expect to see emergency responders at GRMC looking and acting as if it were a true disaster.  Normal hospital Emergency Department operations and patient care will not be affected by the drill. GRMC’s Public Information Officer will be located at GRMC if information is needed for local media throughout the active drill process.
