As of October 1, 2020, Guadalupe County is reporting 3,967 COVID-19 cases. The total number includes 3,841 recovered, 17 active cases, and 65 cases “to be determined”.

Numbers of COVID-19 Patients at GRMC: Currently GRMC has 3 hospitalized COVID-19 patients.

GRMC Number Trends: GRMC’s 7 day moving average of new COVID-19 admissions is 1 per day and the 7 day moving average for COVID-19 hospitalizations is 3 per day. This information represents average numbers from our facility alone.

Visitor Policy Update: Effective Monday October 5, 2020, GRMC is allowing one visitor to accompany patients who are receiving outpatient services and inpatient services consistent with Texas Health and Human Services expiration of the emergency rule prohibiting visitors during the COVID-19 pandemic. The new rule requires hospitals to screen each person entering the hospital and restrict visitor access as the hospital determines necessary to limit the spread of COVID-19. COVID-19 patients (and suspected COVID-19 patients) will not be allowed visitors.

Visiting hours for hospitalized patients are 8 am-6pm. The Patient Tower entrance is open Monday through Friday 5:30am-6:00pm to accommodate flow of traffic. Visitors arriving during weekend visiting hours will need to proceed through the Emergency Department entrance for screening and entry.

All persons entering GRMC will be required to wear a mask and be screened for COVID-19 symptoms and contacts. If visitors exhibit symptoms they will be denied entry. Masks must be worn at all times within the building and visitors are not permitted to congregate in public areas, such as lobbies or the cafeteria.

Some compassionate care visitor exceptions may be made on a case-by-case basis, with approval by the Unit Nurse Manager or Director of Nursing. Exceptions may be granted for extenuating circumstances, such as end-of-life care.

Outpatient Services and Curbside Lab Draws: GRMC asks that patients presenting for outpatient services including lab, imaging, or wound care enter through the Central Entrance Monday through Friday from 6:30 am- 6:00 pm and through the Emergency Department entrance on weekends.

Weather permitting, GRMC offers curbside lab blood draws from 6:30 am – 11:00 am Monday through Friday. You will need to have your physician order, driver’s license and insurance card ready to take advantage of this new service.

To use our curbside lab draws you will drive to the front central entrance off Court Street and pull into one of the eight parking spots designated as reserved for outpatient lab. Please park and call or text (830) 491-7140 with your parking spot number. The phlebotomist will come to you so you can stay in your car. This service is for patients needing blood draws only.
