Christopher Corkins, MD is a board-certified general and burn surgeon with extensive experience in acute care surgery, trauma, and complex burn management. He currently serves as Officer in Charge of the Burn Surgery Clinic at the San Antonio Military Medical Center, where he also practices as an acute care and burn surgeon.

Dr. Corkins completed his medical degree at Loma Linda University and his general surgery residency at the San Antonio Uniformed Health Services Health Education Consortium. He further specialized through a burn surgery fellowship at the Institute of Surgical Research. His career includes both domestic and international service, including leadership roles in South Korea and deployment in support of Operation Enduring Freedom.

A Major in the United States Army, Dr. Corkins has been recognized with the Meritorious Service Medal and Army Commendation Medal. In addition to his clinical work, he is an accomplished researcher and educator, with publications in pediatric critical care and tissue engineering, and a strong commitment to advancing burn care and surgical innovation.
