  • Each participant will have up to 10 minutes to share during a session, if they choose.
  • The group will be facilitated by GRMC Chaplain Tom Jones or his designee.
  • Participants will receive information about additional grief support groups and professional grief counselors for continued support.

Stroke Recovery and Support

Guadalupe Regional Medical Center offers a Stroke & Recovery Support Group as a support network to aid in successful recoveries and assists members within our community. Our stroke support group provides the opportunity to share concerns and solutions for the changes that occur after a stroke. Studies have shown that social interaction and the feeling of being connected to others helps ease the depression and isolation that often arises during recovery. Whether you’re in the early stages of recovery or have been recovering for years, we invite you to join us for a monthly Stroke & Recovery Support Group meeting. Stroke survivors, family members and loved ones, as well as caregivers are encouraged to join the group.

Meetings are held monthly in the Inpatient Rehab Unit dining area on the first Wednesday of each month at 3pm. For more information, call Inpatient Rehab at 830.401.7789.

Parkinson’s Support Group

Guadalupe Regional Medical Center’s Rehab Services Department has created the GRMC Parkinson’s Support Group to help members of our community have the opportunity to gather together in order to meet people with common experiences or concerns who can provide each other with encouragement, comfort, and advice. Support groups are also a place to give and receive emotional and practical support to others who are in the same situation. Parkinson’s support group meetings provide you with a chance to:

  • Share information about medical diagnosis, treatments, research, and strategies
  • Talk about your feelings and listen to others dealing with the same challenges
  • Compare common symptoms and the ways that each person has handled the symptoms
  • Discuss issues that are unique to care partners/family members of people with Parkinson’s disease
  • Learn from expert speaker presentations

Meetings are held monthly in the East Campus Selig Room on the third Thursday of each month at 10:30am. For more information, call Inpatient Rehab at 830.401.7789.
