About Your Medical Bill

Once you complete your registration process at GRMC, you will have provided any health insurance information you have. Your medical insurance may cover all or part of your charges. We understand your hospital bill may be confusing and lengthy, but our professionals in patient accounts will help you and answer any questions regarding your bill and payment options.

Bill Payment Options

For your convenience, we have several options that will grant you access to view, pay and manage your bill.

  • Pay Your Bill – We offer a quick pay option where you do not have to enroll, or you can enroll and have access to your statements, set up recurring payment plans, and choose to go paperless.
  • Patient Portal – Through GRMC’s patient portal, you can register and access your health information, which includes your bill.

Financial Assistance Programs

Healthcare services can be a costly investment. Eligibility for financial assistance is based on financial need and is provided to patients who meet program criteria. Services include:

The Prescription Assistance Program (PAP) at GRMC helps patients receive needed prescription medications to treat chronic medical conditions such as asthma, diabetes, high blood pressure, high cholesterol, and depression. Qualification guidelines for PAP are:

  • US Citizen
  • Have a low/fixed income
  • Are on long-term medications
  • A physician in Guadalupe County
  • Can pay $15/month

Indigent Health Care 830.401.7217 Learn More

Assistance through the Indigent Health Care Program is available for patients who are Guadalupe County residents and whose incomes do not exceed 100% of the Federal Poverty Guideline(FPG) established by the Department of Health and Human Services. Eligibility may be retroactive for a maximum of 90 days. Those wishing to establish eligibility for Indigent Care should contact our Indigent Health Care Coordinator at 830.401.7217. Verification of total gross income for the last three months along with the most recent income tax return is required.

You may qualify for Charity Care if the family’s annual gross income is less than or equal to 200% of the federal poverty level. If the family’s gross income is between 201% and 300% of the federal poverty level, the patient qualifies for a discount of 50%. If the patient’s family income is greater than 300% of the federal poverty level and his/her GRMC bills exceed 25% of the family’s annual income, the patient qualifies for a discount of 40%. On a case by case basis, Financial Counselors may qualify certain patients for Charity Care.  A Financial Counselor may be contacted for eligibility determination. Payment plans are available.

GRMC accepts cash, check, Visa, Master Card and Discover. GRMC also provides a Recurring Payment Option, which is an automatic monthly payment by electronic check or credit card. If interested in Recurring Payments, contact 830.401.7874 or 830.401.7875.

While GRMC accepts most major insurances, we also understand that maternity care may not be covered. Thus, for qualified, uninsured families may be eligible for this program if payment is made in full by the time of the mother’s discharge.

The plan is designed for a normal, uncomplicated delivery at GRMC and for the routine care mother and baby receives during hospitalized. These discounted prices are not offered to families with Medicaid of other maternity insurance coverage. Any special amenities or accommodations may be subject to additional fees.
