Pastoral Care

GRMC offers Pastoral Care services to patients, families and staff members.  The Pastoral Care staff are committed, knowledgeable and experienced chaplains who offer compassion, support and respect for all faith traditions.  In addition to providing support during an illness or crisis, the chaplains are trained to offer assistance with Advanced Care Planning (living wills, medical powers of attorney, DNR orders) and assistance with organ and tissue donation.

The Pastoral Care Department believes that a person's spiritual wellbeing can be an aid to the physical healing process. A Chaplain is present in the medical center from 7:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Monday through Friday, and from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. on Saturday. A Chaplain is available on an on-call basis at all other times by contacting the unit nurse or calling the operator at (830) 379-2411.  Also, upon request, the Chaplain's office will contact a patient's own church and/or clergyperson.
